Morrie Ruffin has been with BIO since 1994 and is responsible for building the organizations cutting edge business development and investor outreach programs focused on helping companies identify strategic partnering and licensing opportunities. This franchise is now the largest in the world with operations in the U.S., Europe and Japan.
In addition to his business development work, Mr. Ruffin leads the industry's capital formation advocacy efforts. He is a regular speaker at industry events and has participated in countless media interviews commenting on business topics and trends in the drug development industry. He was a founder and board member of the Interoperable Informatics Infrastructure Committee (I3C), a standards setting body for the bioinformatics industry.
Prior to joining BIO, Mr. Ruffin worked for U.S. Senator Arlen Specter for five years as his senior legislative assistant. He received his MA in International Studies (Economics) from Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies and his BA from the University of Virginia.
